Interstellar Mining Sandbox
Design and command a mining fleet across the stars.
Build stations. Automate production. Defend your empire.
Starminer is a modular space construction sandbox built around interconnected simulation systems. Players construct infinitely scalable space structures, manage mining and logistics networks, automate production chains, and define their own long-term goals.
Progression emerges from mastering systems rather than following scripted paths. But expansion attracts attention - alien forces and pirates will challenge what you build, forcing you to defend your stations in real space, in real time.
Build space stations piece by piece. Every module connects, rotates, and functions as part of your greater design. No two stations are alike.
No hard limits. Scale from a small outpost to a sprawling industrial complex spanning entire asteroid fields. Your ambition is the only boundary.
Extract resources from asteroids, refine raw materials through production chains, and build automated logistics networks that keep your empire running.
Pirates and alien factions will test your defenses. Position weapons, manage energy distribution, and command your fleet in real-time engagements.
Power, heat, logistics, production, crew - every system connects. Interconnected mechanics create emergent outcomes that reward clever engineering.
No scripted paths. Define your own goals, develop strategies through experimentation, and master systems at your own pace. Designed for long-term play.

Starminer launches with three game modes: Campaign, Sandbox, and Survival. Campaign features missions that introduce core mechanics and lore. Sandbox lets you customize your starting conditions. Survival pits you against endless waves of enemies. All three will be refined during Early Access.
Starminer spans three star systems - Sol, Lalande, and Alpha Centauri - with more than 25 distinct environments. The campaign features dozens of missions of varying length and difficulty.
Starminer focuses on creativity, customization, and physics. Unlike large space sims like X4 or Elite Dangerous, Starminer emphasizes creative building and heavy customization. Our physics simulation means mass, thrust, and structural integrity really matter, adding depth and realism that sets the game apart.
No build limits. You can grow as big as you like - the only limit is what your computer can handle.
Multiplayer is high on our priority list. Initially it will likely be a co-op mode for 2-4 players and a deathmatch mode on one large map. PvP is also planned.
Yes! You can already save and recall your own blueprints through the build menu. We're also building a system that lets players share templates with the community in-game, and may expand it to Steam Workshop.
The modding system isn't in place yet, but it's one of the top features on our list to add after release. We'd love to offer expansive modding tools to the community.
Starminer is built in Unreal Engine 4.

There likely will be, but we still need to do more testing on the Deck.
